Use boundaries

Terms of use

Use the service for ordinary creative, educational and recreational tasks while respecting its data, source and safety limits.

Use and mandatory rights

Use the service lawfully for ordinary creative, educational and recreational activities. Do not use it to facilitate harm, unlawful trade, harassment or deceptive claims about a result.

These plain-language terms do not limit consumer protections, statutory rights or competent venues that cannot legally be excluded.

No scientific or availability guarantee

A draw is uniform only within the eligible portion of the active 1000-species pool. It is not certified physical randomness and does not represent real-world biodiversity, geographic range, conservation status or abundance.

Taxonomy can change. Localised common names are available for 150 records; the other 850 use their scientific name and carry no per-species habitat label. The service may be revised, paused or reset during service testing; saved session history is not promised as durable storage.

Responsible use

Do not treat a result or abstract scene as species identification, location evidence, wildlife-safety, animal-care or veterinary advice. Do not use the service to facilitate cruelty, harassment, illegal trade or another harmful activity.

Shared links must not be used to imply endorsement, ownership of upstream data, a guaranteed outcome or scientific validation that the service does not provide.

Sources and presentation

GBIF attribution and its recorded CC BY 4.0 terms apply to scientificName and rank. Localised labels and habitat assignments are separate editorial work and must not be represented as GBIF-verified.

The abstract CSS scenes contain no animal media assets. Their environmental patterns are presentation and may not be republished as evidence about a selected species.
